Well, our friends at Tooth and Nail use purevolume.com to host their free MP3s. Our mantra here at 3hive is that we provide direct links to free MP3s on band and label websites. Unforunately, purevolume.com prohibits a direct link to the Starflyer 59 MP3 from an outside website. So we had to do a little switch-a-roo, and who better than Yo La Tengo to provide our daily fix…
thanks for the info. just glad I was able to snag Wake Up Early before the link disappeared, it's a mighty fine song. Yo La Tengo is up my alley too, so a double score today 🙂
Yo La Tengo's name comes from a Mexican baseball player (can't remember who exactly) who would always bump into other players when trying to catch an outfield pot fly. He didn't speak much English, so he would just yell, "Yo la tengo!" Nobody else knew what this meant, so the bumping continued.
no knock against Yo La Tengo, but what happened to Star Flyer?

i thought "yo la tengo" was what mexican baseball players say when there is a fly ball, the equivalent of "i got it".
