The agressively jazzy feel of Soul Coughing? The vocal dexterity of Sublime? The funkiness of really old Chili Peppers? I’m not sure what I’m digging so much about the sound from the British trio Big Strides, or even if my fascination will last past the first snowfall here in Michigan. For now though, these boys have the bump I’m looking for. Check out “Strangely Inclined” to see if you are as the title suggests.
Can anyone say G-Love and Special Sauce?
sweet. your description does not do this band justice – everyone should check it out.
akaRaff, I can
and I like it
Damn Nick, you stole my comment!
OOPs! I meant “Damn, akaRaff”
rather good, funky! cheers!!
nice funky music! thanks
This stuff sounds pretty familiar. Kind of reminds me of the English version of G. Love and Special Sauce. Nice.
Haha AkaRaff! I totally didn’t read your comment before writing mine, but you hit it dead on!
Funk? I'm not sure I understand what that means then. I've been diggin' on the Bar-Kays this past week and these guys sound like DMB in comparison. Blues hooks, unremarkable bass, no soul? I can't put my finger on it…good try, though. Thanks, but no thanks.
Wow, these guys are great! Thanks for the post.
I'll pile on w/the G. Love comparisons. Disappointed that anything so dead-on ripped off would be praised so vigorously. Oh, and the lyrics aren't as fun, nor ist he delivery as good.
Personally I think it rocks!!! Check out there website Bigstrides.net for the new tune ‘Lets gets Nice’. I think this is something special.
